Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
SafeCast ("we," "us") collects information necessary to operate https://safecast.site, SafeSend, SafePlay, and related services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Account data: Name, email address, and profile information provided during registration or Google Login (where offered to authorized platform users).
- Device and session data: Device identifiers, hardware metadata (such as device model and platform string), IP address, and operating system version to manage secure sessions, enforce device binding, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Usage data: Information about how you interact with the Service, such as links created, decrypted, or played, and related event logs.
2. Demo Requests and Lead Data
When you submit a Request a Demo or similar prospect form on safecast.site, we collect the information you provide to evaluate your request and deliver a device-bound demo experience:
- Required: Full name, email address, Google Drive file URL (public "Anyone with the link — Viewer" link to your own video), and confirmation that you own or control the content.
- Optional: Phone number and company name.
- Technical data: Device fingerprint or hardware identifier (for example, MAC-derived fingerprint) used to auto-lock the demo secure link to a single device; IP address; and hardware metadata (device model, platform, and related fields) for fraud prevention and abuse detection.
- Playback metadata: Encrypted link identifiers, video title, and transient stream resolution data needed to deliver playback during the demo.
Demo link behavior. Demo secure links are typically configured with auto-lock: the first device that decrypts the link may become the only authorized viewer for that demo. Stream URLs are resolved transiently at playback time and are not intended for permanent redistribution.
We do not accept YouTube URLs through public demo forms. Demo submissions must use Google Drive public file links as described in our Terms of Service.
3. Google Drive (Public Demo Links)
For demo and prospect flows, SafeCast processes only the public Google Drive file URL that you submit. We access content that you have already shared as "Anyone with the link" with Viewer permission.
- We do not request Google account sign-in (OAuth) for standard public demo requests unless explicitly disclosed in a separate flow or agreement.
- We do not ask you to share a Drive folder or file with a SafeCast service account email for demos.
- Stream access is resolved temporarily to enable playback in SafePlay or the demo viewer; we do not claim ownership of your Google Drive files.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, secure, and maintain the Service, including encrypted link creation, decryption, and playback.
- To process demo requests, deliver demo secure links, and follow up on sales inquiries.
- To enforce device binding, detect abuse, and protect the integrity of the Service.
- To communicate with you about your request, account, or support inquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
5. Google Data and YouTube API (Authorized Users)
Where SafeCast offers Google OAuth or YouTube API integration to registered or authorized platform users (separate from public demo submissions):
- Authentication: We use Google OAuth to sign you in securely when that feature is enabled for your account.
- Video management: With your consent, the Service may request permission to upload or manage videos associated with your connected Google or YouTube account under your commercial agreement.
Use of Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not share it with third-party advertisers.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Demo and lead records: Stored in our PostgreSQL database at api.safecast.site, and optionally mirrored to Google Sheets for internal sales follow-up.
- Secure link metadata: Share codes, device fingerprints, streaming link metadata, and event logs are stored on our secured backend infrastructure.
- Local client data: SafeSend and SafePlay may store session or configuration data locally on your device using industry-standard practices.
- Video content: SafeCast does not permanently host full video files for demo or operator sharing workflows; playback streams are obtained transiently from sources you or your organization provide.
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain demo lead records (including contact details, Google Drive URL submitted, device fingerprint, and associated secure link metadata) for up to 24 months from the date of submission, unless a longer period is required by law or active contractual relationship.
You may request deletion of your demo lead data before the end of that period by contacting support@safecast.site. We will respond within a reasonable time and delete or anonymize records where we are not required to retain them.
Security, audit, and aggregated analytics logs may be retained for a shorter or longer period as needed for fraud prevention and legal compliance.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact support@safecast.site.
Authorized users who connected a Google account may revoke SafeCast's access through Google Account permissions. Deleting a SafeCast account removes associated metadata from our systems subject to retention requirements above.
